The Piccolo?

Yesterday during the amazing Tartantown Ltd. World Pipe Band Championship Redux, PM Nathaniel Russell was interviewed and spoke about the sound of the Victoria Police Pipe Band when they won the Worlds in 1998.

In true Russellism fashion, he spoke of the importance of timbre and quality (down in pitch) and being a "fan of the Great Highland Bagpipe, not the piccolo..."

The Victoria Police Pipe Band played the natural sound of the Sinclair Chanter; which was in part, inspiration and insight for the new MacLellan Elevation chanter.

Stay tuned for more information on the Elevation platform, designed for soloists and bands (and reed makers) in North America.
